Santanta turned to Crystal and started licking the back of her neck.

Crystal started giggling before she batted him away. "That tickles!"

Santanta stopped, laying his head back down and closing his eyes. Watching from the far side of the river, a skinny black wolf with bright blue eyes examined them for a moment. He flicked his ears back and snuck off quickly, hurrying out of the territory to go tell his father.

After a while, Santanta sat up, waiting patiently for her to wake up.

Crystal curled up on her side quietly, her ears twitching.

Santanta watched. Just watched. His tail moved to the side and he laid back down, rolling over on his back and closing his eyes.

Santanta rolled over onto his side, resting his back next to her, with his back facing her. He closed his eyes.

After a few moments, Crystal opened her eyes slowly, looking around.

Santanta turned to face Crystal and licked her shoulder. His eyes moved to her stomach.

Crystal saw him looking at her stomach and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Quit staring!" She teased.

Santanta smiled and looked away. Kvothe looked at them and padded toward them cautiously. "Hi." Santanta perked his ears and stood up instantly, growling.

Crystal's ears flattened as she sat up quickly, hiding behind Santanta and not saying anything.

Kvothe stepped back, looking at Santanta nervously. Santanta's fur bristled and he stepped toward Kvothe quickly, his fangs bared. Kvothe quickly started walking backward.
