"What happened?" Santanta asked curiously. Kvothe eyed him and said, "None of your business." Santanta growled from deep in his chest. Kvothe flicked his tail, "You don't need to know."

Crystal's ears flicked back as she stood up. She glanced at them both nervously.

Santanta's fur bristled along his back slightly, then it smoothed back down as he looked away. Kvothe smirked. The raccoon snuck toward them quickly, his small feet hitting the ground loudly.

Crystal perked her ears, ignoring them as she looked toward the sound. She sniffed the air and growled. "It's back!"

"What's back?" Kvothe asked, getting up and stepping toward Crystal. Santanta growled again and Kvothe stopped, eyeing him dangerously. The raccoon stopped in it's tracks, staring at Crystal.

Crystal wasn't paying attention to them, she was staring at the raccoon angrily. She growled at it.

The raccoon lifted it's forearm, as if it was going to step away, and returned a hiss-like growl. It's small dark eyes were gleaming.

Crystal growled and stepped toward it threateningly.

The raccoon stepped backwards quickly. Kvothe watched.

The raccoon turned around and bit hold of Crystal's leg, digging it's sharp teeth in. Santanta got up to go help, but Kvothe bit down on his back. Santanta snarled loudly and spun around on Kvothe, biting down on his head. Kvothe let go of Santanta back and twisted out of his grip, snapping his jaws at Santanta's face.

Crystal yelped loudly and bit it on it's back, ripping it off of her. She was oblivious to the fight.

The raccoon squeaked and took off, quickly gripping onto a tree and climbing up out of her reach. Santanta's fur bristled and he snapped his jaws at Kvothe, missing, then did it again and his jaws smacked down hard on Kvothe's muzzle. Kvothe tried to pull away, but it wasn't working. He clawed at Santanta's face, scratching his eyes, and Santanta let go instantly. Kvothe bit down onto Santanta's neck.

Crystal looked at the raccoon angrily, then turned back toward the cove. Seeing them fighting, the perked her ears and ran back to them quickly. "Guys, STOP!" She pushed them apart, standing in between them.

Santanta snapped at Kvothe as Crystal pushed them apart. Kvothe's ears fell back. His muzzle was bloody where he had torn away from Santanta's grip, and Santanta's fur around his neck was a light shade of pink from where Kvothe had been tearing at him. Santanta was still growling, and Kvothe had gone silent.

Crystal lowered her ears, glancing between them. "Why were you fighting!?" She demanded an answer.

Santanta just glared at Kvothe. Kvothe didn't say anything.

Crystal looked at them both. "Look at you two! You're all tore up!" She saw Kvothe's head bleeding and she licked it quickly.

Kvothe lowered his head. He had started the fight, yes, but he didn't really know why. "I'm sorry," he said quietly to Crystal. Santanta's fur was still bristled all up his back, but he stopped himself from attacking Kvothe again.

Crystal just sighed and shook her head, then went to Santanta and licked his neck quickly.

Kvothe sat there quietly, looking down at his paws. Santanta growled at Kvothe quietly, "Try it again, and I swear I'll rip your throat out." Kvothe flicked his tail and looked at Santanta sharply, "I'd like to see you try."
