Morna nods, and gives a small smile. "His step-dad just kinda stares at me, before walking away. I haven't met anyone else that lives in the house, other than his sister, and she's.... colorful," She whispers, and watches her toes.

Griffon laughed at that, a calm, goodnatured laugh. "I know. His step-dad is a basket ball coach. All his kids are the ones who get the attention of the family. I figured that would make Josh want to know me, but, he doesn't talk to me. The boy always has hated me."

"Because you haven't really reached out to him. Maybe if you tried taking him out for ice cream when he was younger, He wouldn't see you as this man who got his mom pregnant, and has more important things to do than watch his kid grow up. Even if it's only a few times, that means something to a kid," Morna looks at him solemnly.

Griffon's face went completely empty of emotion. He sighed and explained, "When he was 7, he played Jack in a Jack and the Beanstalk play. I was there, watching. His mother was the only one of his family who was there, and she left half way through, for who knows what reason. When he was 9, he won the school spelling bee. When he was 10, I bought him a bike for his birthday. He threw in the dumpster. I've tried to be there when I could, for him, but he's always rejected me."

Morna sighs quietly, and sits up, keeping her eyes on him. "When Flash and I were younger, before she knew Shadows was her dad. He would give her things that she wanted, and she would through them out. She didn't want anything to do with him. In her mind, he was someone who had some kids that had helped her, but she didn't want anything to do with him. He showed up at her mom's house one day, and they just talked, for hours. He explained everything to her, about what he did, what he had done. What he wanted to do. Then he kept asking her about herself, made her talk, come out of her shell. My point, you can't just watch from the sidelines. You should have to do more than give just him things. You should have been there when he was born. Should have been there when he was getting neglected by the rest of his family. That's how you make an impression," She whispers, and drops her gaze again. She wasn't one to give speeches. She was always the one to agree to everything.

Griffon thought about it, then said, "I don't want Josh to be like Flash. I'd rather him hate me than to try and know me. "

"You should at least let him in a little. Flash is Shadows favorite kid, not matter what he does or says. I didn't even know I was related to him up until a few weeks ago. He let me see what he was, but everything else, I was shut out from. But at least I can say I know him, even if only a little. I still have all my values, even if they are a little distorted. I may have worked on the streets, but that was because I didn't have someone supporting me. Shadows... Only really supplies Flash with things. The rest of us have to find ways to get it on our own," Morna whispers, and curls her toes.

Griffon remained silent for a long moment, studying her. He frowned and asked, not sure, "Do you actually think he'd listen to a word that I'd have to say? Whenever he gets back, he probably won't even acknowledge that I'm in the room."

"He will if I ask," Morna whispers, and puts her arms around her legs. She wouldn't admit it, but Griffon scared the living daylights out of her.

Morna gives a small smile, and glances at him. "He will," She whispers, and checks her phone, ignoring all the random texts about wishing her a happy marriage and good luck with the kids. She takes a deep breath, truly relived that Brain hadn't shown up yet.

Josh got back to the hospital, walking into Morna's room. He had a brown paper bag with burrito's inside it in one hand, and a backpack in the other. He saw Griffon and froze in place. Griffon turned his head calmly and looked at Josh, his face empty of emotion.

Morna jumps up, and grabs the bag, sitting on the bed again. "Which ones are mine," She asks, sorting them out on her table thing. "He hasn't come by yet, which I'm happy to say. I get to go home tomorrow, and we get to take them home after that, because they were born early, and they want to make sure their healthy," She adds.

Josh looked at the floor, then looked at Morna as she spoke. "The ones with the writing on the wrap are yours," he said, walking over. He glanced at Griffon, then quickly looked away again.
