Flash gilts her head and scooped up Dylan easily. "I can go see what they want to talk about," She whispers.

Macy shook her head, "No, it's alright sweetheart." She handed Jack her metal bucket of eggs and hurried up the dirt path to the house. Jack followed.

Flash tails after them, watching quietly.

Macy rushed to the police officers and looked at them worriedly. They began to talk quietly, then one of the officers glanced at Flash, then said to Macy, "Can we speak with you alone?"

Flash sighs and holds up a hand. "I'll be taking a nap if you need me, Macy," She whispers and hurries inside.

Jack walked inside and put the eggs in the fridge slowly. Macy covered her mouth when the officers told her and she closed her eyes tightly. After a moment, she asked, "Is he alright?" "We don't know for sure yet, ma'am," one officer answered.

Flash sighs and throws herself at the bed, shutting her eyes tightly. Please don't be Carter. She thinks.

Macy nodded quickly. "Thank you, officers, for telling me." "Just doing our job, ma'am." They turned away and headed back to their car. Macy hurried inside, wiping her eyes. She shook her head slowly. "What did they want?" "It's Bobby... He was in an... Accident." "What happened?" Macy shook her head and sat down.

Flash opens her eyes, and watches Dylan quietly, keeping a hand on her stomach.

Macy shook her head, "He's like my own boy." Jack nodded, "Where's he at?" "The hospital I'm assuming..." "That's a whole hour, or more depending on traffic, drive away." "Can you go?" Jack nodded, "I suppose I can." "Thank you, Jack."

Flash gets up, and sighs, undoing her hair. She watched it fall in small ringlets around her face and down to her waist. She crouches in front of Dylan and watches him.

Jack sighed and walked out the door, leaving. Outside, his truck roared to life, easy to hear through the thin walls of the old house. It began to rain outside. Macy got up and went to the kitchen to work on dinner. Carter texted Flash: I'll be getting off work in about 20 minutes.

Flash jumps and looks at her phone. She squeaks, and looks at her phone. She smiles in relief and replies telling him to come to his mother's. She carries Dylan downstairs and puts him down, watching Macy. "Let me cook. Give yourself a break," She whispers.

Macy smiled gratefully, "Thank you, Mary." She sat down at the table and put her hand to her forehead, "Bobby was in a car accident."

Flash nods focusing on cooking. "Is he okay," She asks, glancing at Macy.

Macy shrugged, "I don't know. He completely totaled his truck.. And his little girl, Emma, was with him."

Flash winces, hitting her burnt hand. "If you want I could run over to the hospital and check on them," She whispers, continuing to cook.

Flash nods and finishes cooking, looking at the food. "Carter will be off in 20mins. Then he'll be on his way over," She says calmly and sits down, watching Macy.

"I would love to. But It's up to Carter, since he's the one that has to use a car to travel," She whispers.

Macy nodded, then grabbed her cross word puzzle and started to work on it again.

Flash puts out the food, and sets the table quickly.

"Food smells good," she complimented. A few minutes later, Carter got to the house and walked in the front door.
