A nurse that was rushing down the hall tripped over Crystal's foot and said quickly, "Sorry." She hurried off.

"Because my boyfriend is lying there, in a coma, and no one is doing anything about it." She scowled.

"Well, then yes, and yes. Most patients, when in a coma, can hear what others are saying around them but it feels more like a dream than anything else. And he could wake up in a few seconds, or maybe even months. Sometimes it takes even longer than that, but it's hard to let it go that long."

Crystal put her hand on the door knob to his room, but paused. She stared at it for a moment before looking back at the nurse, looking for approval.
